Ontario Solar Provider, Inc. (OSP), will host a series of open-house sessions across the province throughout August and into September, to give farm and commercial building owners a chance to learn more about the benefits of solar PV projects and how the company fits into that picture. The sessions will also discuss Ontario’s incentives for renewable energy, in particular its feed-in tariff (FIT) program.
OSP is a solar development and installation company specializing in FIT projects. The program’s twenty-year contracts offer high prices in return for clean energy fed into the grid. Participating installations must use up to 50% provincially-sourced labour and materials, going up to 60% next year. This guarantees a promising future for solar installation training programs and manufacturing plants, and an overall influx of jobs supporting solar, wind, and hydro installations for the duration of the contracts and beyond.
Interested parties are invited to drop by any of the locations listed on the company’s Web site, between 4 and 7 PM on the scheduled dates, for an informal discussion with members of the company’s trained development, installation, and financing team. With their combined skills and training in PV solutions, they will be able to answer questions and address any concerns regarding solar panel installations in Ontario.
Sessions Join Similar Events Hosted by Training, Installation Experts
OSP’s sessions join a number of events taking place in the province designed to highlight the solar industry at all levels of the supply chain. In July, Ontario Solar Network (OSN) hosted an event in Toronto to discuss financing and taxation of FIT-participating projects. OSN is comprised of graduates of Ontario Solar Academy, which offers solar installation training courses and career preparation. Solar panel training is an integral part of the province’s expansion into the industry, as thousands of workers will be required to keep up with the demand for new projects.
More gathering are scheduled for the fall, when the Ontario Feed-In Tariff Supply Chain will host a two-day forum to discuss the current state of the supply chain as a whole and how it can be better integrated to serve the province.
OSP’s summer sessions give the company a chance to use its specialized training in PV panel technology to help sell solar, bring in business, and guide Ontario towards a greener future.
