Sustainable Energy Technologies Ltd, an Ontario-based project development firm, has partnered with Canadian solar inverter company, SUNERGY, to co-develop an upcoming solar installation project in the province. Sustainable Energy is set to install 50kW of solar panels on the rooftop of an industrial building in Ontario. The building itself is owned and operated by one of Canada’s largest suppliers of automotive products. Expected to be operational by the end of 2010, the project will feature SUNERGY inverters as part of its PV system.
Canadian Technology Represents Breakthrough for Renewable Energy
SUNERGY’s Web site describes its inverter technologies as “the industry’s first power optimization technology that does not require the increased cost of module level electronics.” SUNERGY inverters are also Canada’s only brand of solar inverter that utilizes a high-tech “parallel” PV system design, but at a similar cost to conventional inverters. The high-profile use of this more affordable technology is exciting news for Canada’s renewable energy sector. A lower-cost option means making solar technology more accessible to consumers, and this could lead to more solar installations in Ontario’s future. If this trend continues, Ontario should be poised to become an inspiration to other provinces and a leader in green energy pioneering.
Canadian Economy to Benefit from This and Other Green Projects
SUNERGY’s inverters will arrive on site later this month, and the renewable energy project will then be connected to Ontario’s grid. Axel Hartung, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer of Sustainable Energy, is optimistic about the solar installation project. “We are excited to be securing projects like this which demonstrate the value of parallel with the SUNERGY inverters in one of the highest profile installations in Ontario,” said Hartung. He added that, with an optimistic sales forecast for the remainder of the year, the firm is “beginning to aggressively secure business for 2011[…] the value of parallel systems is gaining traction in the Ontario market.” The partnership between SUNERGY and Sustainable Energy Technologies is just one more example of Canada’s ever-strengthening green economy.
